Carnival’s Mardi Gras Crew Rescues Couple in Misery at Sea

Carnival Cruise Line’s crew aboard Mardi Gras answered a name from the U.S. Coast Guard to rescue a pair from a sailboat early Monday morning.

The couple was stranded about 20 nautical miles from Citadel Island, Bahamas, and Mardi Gras was lower than 9 miles from them when the Coast Guard’s name was acquired by the ship’s officers. Because the ship’s group approached the sailboat, a lifeboat was lowered from Mardi Gras to make the rescue simply after 1 a.m. Monday.

As soon as on board, the person was admitted to the onboard medical middle and the group is caring for him.

Mardi Gras is working an eight-day Caribbean crusing that departed from Port Canaveral, Fla. The ship is continuous its deliberate itinerary and can arrive to Aruba on Tuesday.
